Sometimes you just need to try a new exfoliator

Sometimes you just need to try a new exfoliator

I got my second Moderna shot on Tuesday and decided to take it easy as I waited (and waited) for the side effects to arrive—hence the radio silence since. Well, 12 hours after my shot (almost to the minute) I knew they had arrived when my body started to shake (kind of like a shiver, but different). After about 15 minutes, I started to experience waves of body aches, feeling hot and feeling cold (although I never had a fever—believe me, I took my temperature several times throughout the night). Since I didn’t sleep all that well, I spent most of yesterday in bed, but only managed to nap for about an hour. By the time dinner rolled around, I pretty much felt back to normal—although I was definitely still tired and went to bed around 9.

When I woke up this morning, I felt like a new person and figured it was the perfect time to start my almost-officially-vaccinated life by getting rid of some extra dead skin cells. (OK, this might be little bit of a stretch but you know I like to open even post with a personal anecdote.) I bought Clarins My Clarins RE-MOVE Radiance Exfoliating Powder a few weeks ago as a replacement for my beloved Odacité Green Ceremony Cleanser (which I use in the evening after my oil-based cleanser) and I’m happy to report it delivers amazingly gentle exfoliation.

I’ll be completely honest… This more of a utilitarian product than a luxurious experience, but if you’re looking for a little extra skin-smoothing without redness or irritation, it certainly gets the job done. I’m going to try adding a dash to my gel-based morning cleanser (since this is merely an exfoliant and is not meant to take the place of face wash) to help me put my best face forward for the day—but in the meantime, it fits perfectly into my nightly routine. And the wallet-friendly price-point doesn’t hurt…
