One of the best parts of my job is trying new products, andI rarely use the same regimen on a daily basis. With this said, one of thehardest parts of my job is sticking to the same products (and only those products) for 30 days straight—but it’s a lot easier when I’m happy with the results. Fortunately, that was the case when I used Rodan + Fields’ Redefine and Acute Care for an entire month.
If you’re on any social media platform, you’re surely aware of Rodan + Fields. Their problem-specific regimens are highly effective and relatively simple, and there are options for skin discoloration, acne and sensitivity, as well as anti-aging, which is what Redefine is formulated for. Three steps morning and night is all it takes to see improvement in fine lines, wrinkles and skin smoothness.
You start with the Daily Cleansing Mask, which is unlike any cleanser I’ve used before. Slightly gritty for exfoliation purposes, you spread it on and allow it to dry for a few minutes before washing it off, and it leaves skin feeling unbelievably clean but not the slightest bit tight. From there, the Pore Minimizing Toner sets the stage for the moisturizer that follows. You use the Triple Defense Treatment SPF 30 in the morning and the Overnight Restorative Cream at night. Let it be known, all of these products smell AMAZING.
The Acute Care melds seamlessly with the Redefine products three times a week. These little patches are applied directly to the crow’s feet before bed, and the Liquid Cone Technology delivers plumping hyaluronic acid and collagen-boosting peptides directly to the wrinkles. The “cones” feel like teeny tiny needles, and they melt overnight as the active ingredients are absorbed by the skin. You apply the patches before continuing with the Redefine regimen, and peel the patches off come morning.
Let it be known that I also incorporated the AMP MD roller into this R+F experiment, because it’s truly the best tool in my anti-aging arsenal. I just had to remember to roll after applying the patches, and use the Night Renewing Serum after the toner and before the night cream. (Check out this post for more about the AMP MD.)
Of course I took before-and-after photos, and although the results aren’t super-dramatic, you can definitely see my crow’s feet are no more. What makes this even more significant is that my Botox completely wore off while I was in the process of testing these products—and I still have no crow’s feet to speak of.
Keep in mind the Acute Care patches can be used in conjunction with any of the Rodan + Fields regimens, so regardless of your particular skin concerns, major wrinkle reduction is within your reach. I won’t lie, these products are an investment, but they’re an investment with guaranteed returns (and less expensive than a trip to the dermatologist).
