This Swedish import makes hairstyling a day at the beach

When you hear about a particular product over and over again, there’s usually a good reason. One such omnipresent personal care item is Sachajuan’s Ocean Mist, and after buying it on impulse when it appeared in a MyHabit sale, I can confidently say that it’s the best thing to come out of Sweden since the meatballs.

Salt sprays are a dime a dozen, and I can say this because I’ve tried my fair share. Most of them leave my hair feeling too crunchy or even greasy (if they contain oil), but this one strikes the perfect balance. I’ve been spritzing it on damp hair and letting it air-dry—and then loving the resulting wavy texture. I’ve also used it on dry hair to revive the waves the next morning, and I’ve never-ever had to bump up my next wash due to residue. And as you’d expect, the scent is fresh, clean and reminds me of summer days at the beach.

Sachajuan’s packaging is super-chic and unisex as well, making it vanity-friendly in even the most minimalist bathroom. The only hitch is that the brand is somewhat hard to find in stores outside of New York City (head over to Barneys or Henri Bendel if you’re in the 212), but there are plenty of online retailers that you can hit up for a fix. Unbeknownst to some, Sachajuan also makes amazing body care, and I’m dying to get my hands on the body cleansers and lotions!
