How to keep your resolution to get healthy for 2018!

How to keep your resolution to get healthy for 2018!

Truth be told, I rarely make New Year’s resolutions, simply because I feel like I’m setting myself up for failure. “Eat healthier.” That’s what every Monday is for. “Exercise more.” Then a time-consuming work project comes my way. “Be nicer.” Then someone cuts me off or doesn’t say thank you when I hold the door open for them. BUT, we all have room for improvement in our lives (myself included). That’s why I decided to commit to a healthier lifestyle after Thanksgiving as opposed to the start of the new year—and I’m still sticking to it.

Part 1: Exercise
I have done something active every day since Thanksgiving (minus one or two days off). After about a six-year hiatus, I’m back into Pilates, and I haven’t felt this great since. I’ve tried it all, and this is still the ONLY thing I WANT to do every day fitness-wise. I got an unlimited membership to Club Pilates and I’m definitely taking advantage of it by getting there five (sometimes six) times a week. On the days I can’t make a class, I take a 30-minute walk or bike ride, and sometimes I’ll even double-down with two “active” activities a day. As someone who used to loathe working out, sometimes I wonder who this person is, and what did they do with Paige.

Part 2: DeliverLean
Believe me, I know how hard it can be to kick bad habits—and overhauling your diet can be hard and intimidating. The solution? Let DeliverLean help you get your New Year’s groove on (and less time in the kitchen means more time for other things—like exercising!). You can choose from Classic, Paleo, Vegetarian and Vegan plans, and decide the number of meals you want per day as well as the number of days a week—and voila, these freshly prepared, perfectly portable meals appear on your doorstep. Remember, even just one meal a day can inspire you to stay on track and make healthier food decisions—and teach you how to eat right on your own.

I did the Paleo plan for five days right after Thanksgiving to jumpstart my non-New-Year’s-resolution, and BTW, the food is delicious. Think healthy protein-packed salads, lots of salmon, tons of veggies, turkey meatloaf, bison Bolognese with spaghetti squash—and you get to select what YOU want to eat from an extensive list. You can also see the calorie counts for each meal ahead of time, and a breakdown of carbs, fat, protein, etc. if you like to keep track with an app. My absolute favorite was the almond blueberry pancakes with organic maple agave syrup. I’d actually kind of kill for those right now… Here are a few of the highlights from my week, and if you want to see more of the delicious dishes that sustained me for the five days, head over to my Instagram for all the drool-worthy pics! Oh, and did I mention my husband stole a few meals from me?

P.S. You can get 10% off when you try DeliverLean by using the code buzz10 at checkout!

I have to say that I couldn’t have timed my week of DeliverLean and getting back into Pilates more perfectly. They worked together to help me create a “new normal” that has been going strong for almost a month and a half. For me, 2018 is about making “self -care” more of a priority. This used to make me feel guilty, but then I realized I can’t be my best for anyone else if I don’t try to do the best I can for myself. This applies to all of us, and anytime is a good time to start taking care of yourself, and make changes that will help you live a healthier life for years to come!
