The fall makeup I'm super-excited about

It’s official. I’m so over summer. With my son headed back to school (kindergarten!) next week, I’m beyond ready for fall—and between the fall clothes hitting stores and the fall beauty emails filling my inbox, I’m pretty excited. In my book, if there’s football on TV there should be boots on my feet, and while I’m still undecided about if preseason counts, I’ve already shined up the Rag and Bones and started stocking up on the staples I plan to be wearing for the next 5 or 6 months. Obviously makeup is a big part of the season-transition equation, and here are a few things that I’m so looking forward to trying…

I CAN. NOT. WAIT. for dark polish. I’m thinking deep, moody blues and molto metallic, and I already have my first post-Labor Day lacquer picked out. It’s Pixi by Petra’s “Imperial Blue,” and she’s a beauty.

Get ready to see a lot of precious metals this fall, and you’ll certainly want to wear them on your eyes. One of the standout launches for fall is NARS’ Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow. Designed to be used wet or dry (the former delivers serious hang time and color payoff) and available in 12 shades, these shadows are key for achieving that 70s glam look that is hot, hot, hot for fall.

I wouldn’t expect anyone other than Tom Ford to round out my fall hit-list, and lucky for me I just got a $100 Neiman Marcus gift card. I am dying to try the new Concealing Pen, which is supposed to make undereye circles invisible in a snap. Equally as exciting is the new Correcting Pen, which has a peach-pink side to brighten darkness and discoloration, and a yellow-based side with a super-fine point to cancel out redness and broken capillaries.

So what’s on your fall beauty wish list?
