This might be the fall lipstick you’ve been looking for…

This year, fall makeup trends are all over the map, from 90s-inspired earth tones to majorly mod cat-eye liner. Wine- and berry-stained lips are prominent, too, and as with every season, there are plenty of reds to choose from. I happen to have all of the above on hand, but I found myself missing another standout hue: Rose. Not pink, not mauve, not plum, but somewhere in the middle, this void in my lipstick wardrobe was troubling me until I attended a Tom Ford Beauty fall preview at Neiman Marcus in Boca Raton last week.

Once I was all made up with a sultry smoky eye (Tom wouldn’t have it any other way), it was lipstick decision time. Since I went to this event with a gift card burning a hole in my pocket, I knew this was my objective, so I scanned the makeup artist’s suggestions (declining the red and “Bruised Plum” I already have) and went straight for the “Casablanca.” Darker than my other “daytime” lipsticks yet lighter than my typical “evening” go-tos, this offers the perfect punch of pigment without being too garish. And topped with a light swipe of Chanel’s Glossimer in “Tocade,” you get a bit more berry bite. The result: Pout perfection that is wearable from season to season.
