My new daily It Cosmetics makeup routine

It’s really easy to fall into a makeup rut, and the once-fun ritual of primping can become almost robotic. I didn’t realize that this had happened to me until a big-old box of It Cosmetics goodies landed on my doorstep—and experimenting with a bevy of new products basically resulted in a brand-new elevated look. Here, the step-by-step (which looks a lot more complicated than it really is!)…

Your Skin But Better CC+
I used to be a die-hard tinted moisturizer fan, but this product helped me step up my game—and the appearance of my complexion (and actually save time). This all-in-one offers hydration, SPF 50, anti-aging ingredients and amazing yet natural-looking coverage that fights wrinkles and discoloration throughout the day. The color also adapts to your skin, so it works whether I’m using self-tanner or not, and there’s no need to worry about finding a perfect match (there are 5 available shades). I’m really into it, and I definitely want to try the “Illumination” version.

Bye Bye Under Eye
Quite possibly the product that put It Cosmetics on the makeup map, this concealer is everything—and it’s not just for dark circles. There’s nothing this cream can’t cover, and it stays put without settling into creases. I put a dab on the back of my hand, warm it up with my ring finger, pat it under my eyes and use any excess on blemishes or redness around my nose. Then I use the Heavenly Luxe Complexion Perfection #7 Brush to make sure everything is blended together.

Bye Bye Pores Pressed
Summer in South Florida means one thing: Humidity. There’s no way to avoid it, but a light dusting of this powder (with the Heavenly Luxe Wand Ball Powder Brush #8) keeps my face looking fresh all day.

Sunshine in a Compact
I never go without bronzer, and this one delivers the perfect shade of sun-kissed color. The matte finish looks completely natural, and the Heavenly Luxe Mega Fan Brush #9 lets me target the spots where the sun would naturally hit and blend it down my neck for a seamless transition.

The Romantics Naturally Pretty Matte Palette Vol. 2
Matte eyeshadow is a new thing for me, and this palette offers every shade I could possibly want (and then some). For those times when I feel the urge to revert back to my shimmery ways, all I have to do is top it off with a bit of the “Transforming Pearl” shade. And since I’m a makeup-tool minimalist, the double-sided Heavenly Luxe No-Tug Dual Eyeshadow Brush #5 is all I need to apply, define and blend.

No-Tug Waterproof Gel Eyeliner
I love, love, love tightlining my eyes, but I hate, hate, hate when it winds up all over the place (which is why I generally skip the eyeliner altogether during the day). Let it be known that I threw away all of my other black eyeliners after trying this one, because it stayed in place ALL DAY. If you buy one thing after reading this post, make it this.

Superhero Mascara
A good mascara can make you feel like Wonder Woman, and this one is pretty amazing. It delivers length, definition and thickness is one fell swipe—so much so that it borders on too much for during the day (but that’s just my personal preference).

Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil
I was never really into brow pencil—until now. Designed to enhance and fill in eyebrows of any color, this super-fine smudge-proof pencil adds a little extra oomph that really takes your look to a more polished level. Here’s a tip: Brush your brows down with the attached spoolie brush before filling in so you can really see where you need it. (Then, obviously, brush them back up and into place.)

Bye Bye Makeup 3-in-1 Makeup Melting Balm
When it’s time to remove all of the above at the end of the day, this cleansing balm gets the job done. You’re left with smooth, baby-soft, immaculate skin that prepped and primed for your evening skincare regimen.

Yes, this new makeup routine is a bit more labor-intensive than my old one, but it’s totally worth each and every second I put into it. A big thank-you to It Cosmetics for helping me get out of my makeup rut and into a whole new look!
