If you can’t imagine applying foundation without a BeautyBlender, kudos to you… This wonder sponge recently became a mainstay in my makeup routine, and the results have been resplendent. Although I’m not totally convinced that the addition of sonic vibration or rotation can make all that much of a difference, I’m still intrigued by a new crop of application tools that promise a seamless, airbrushed finish so I figured I’d share…
Clinique’s new Sonic System Airbrushed Finish Liquid Foundation Applicator has a sponge that buffs and blends foundation with vibrating sonic action. You can either dot your foundation on your face or apply directly to the sponge, and the rechargeable tool automatically shuts off after 30 seconds. Clinique obviously recommends cleansing the sponge after each use, but I noticed that replacement heads are not an option, which I find a bit troubling.
For those who prefer a foundation brush, check out blendSMART’s Automated Makeup System + Foundation Brush Head Starter Set. Ideal for liquid makeup, this battery-operated tool has a rotating brush head that’s designed for even, streak-free application. Though not included in this set, you can replace the liquid foundation brush head with a powder or blush brush for an all-over flawless finish.
Since I’m not 100% sold I’d love to know, have any of your tried these tools?
