The products to buy at the new Boca Kiehl’s store (or anywhere else for that matter)

It’s always exciting when one of my favorite beauty brands comes to Boca, and last week’s opening of the Kiehl’s store in Boca was no exception. It was great to see colleagues from my former life in NYC, meet the president of the company and fete the latest outpost of one of my go-to lines. Part of my pre-opening coverage homework was playing with some of the products, and here are my picks for anyone who’s new to Kiehl’s—or anyone looking to upgrade their skincare regimen.

Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate
Vitamin C should be part of any anti-aging skincare arsenal, and this superb serum gives your skin the dose it needs. But beyond protection from free radicals, it also goes to work on existing fine lines and wrinkles, rough texture, uneven tone and other signs of lackluster skin. Best of all, it instantly smoothes your skin when you put it on, which makes makeup go on better than ever.

Midnight Recovery Concentrate
If a skincare product could be compared to your comfiest pair of sweatpants, this would be it. An amazing way to end the day, this oil-based treatment smells divine and leaves skin smooth, radiant and prepared to repair itself while you sleep. You can also use a few drops to transform any lotion into a nourishing hand and/or body treatment.

Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado
I’m not all that picky when it comes to eye cream, but this one has raised the bar. Though intensely thick and rich when you dab it on, it quickly emulsifies with the heat of your fingers so you can easily spread the love (so to speak). The formula is designed to stay put, so whether you use it morning and/or night, you can rest assured that it won’t run into your eyes. Oh, and it plumps up those fine lines on contact.

Musk Eau de Toilette Spray
If you like a sexy, seductive, sultry scent, this one is for you. Word has it that this fragrance has led to lots of loving for the Kiehl’s staff (we had a whole conversation about it at the opening)—and based on my husband’s reaction, I believe it. And at less than $45, there’s no reason not to try it. Trust me.

Facial Fuel SPF 15
Odds are your man’s skincare regimen isn’t up to snuff. If you try and try to get him to take better care of his skin, treat him to this product and it will be smooth sailing. An aftershave, moisturizer and sunscreen in one, he’ll love how healthy his skin looks and feels—and you’ll love not having to nag him anymore. And whether he’s really receptive or rather resistant, pick up Manmade, the new book by Kiehl’s president Chris Salgardo. Packed with grooming and lifestyle tips that any guy will appreciate (no matter his level of skincare prowess), this is a fun, informative read that you just may get sucked into, too. (I had a chance to interview Chris at the store opening last week, so keep an eye out for my forthcoming post on ModernBocaMom.com!)
